Wimbledon

Wimbledon is in full swing and we’re getting very excited...by the fashions! With Ralph Lauren uniforms, Wimbledon can’t be anything but inspiring – both on and off court.

But the style hasn't always been the same...

Lilian Watson 1884

May Sutton Bundy caused an uproar in 1905 by rolling back her sleeves

Suzanne Lenglen, 1926
"All women players should go on their knees in thankfulness to Suzanne for delivering them from the tyranny of corsets."

Update the vintage look with this season’s dip hem pleated midi, £27.99 from Glamourous
To keep the style an all-white classic, team it with a simple white tee, like Warehouse’s Woven Insert Tee (£38)
Finish it off with a brown pleated belt (this one’s from French Connection), and a classic Hermès scarf.
Wedges help to create the perfect daytime attire, and platforms work well for the.
Heels £65 Kurt Geiger

Helen Wills 1933

Twist this 1930s tennis attire into a glamorous summer look with a Malene Birger lace skirt (£101)
And add some colour to the sleeveless shirt with one of these chiffon designs
Plain coral (£15 New Look)
Patterned (£15 Lipsy)
Complete with a statement piece of jewellery like this asos bangle (£28)
And some killer heels, these ones are also from asos (£35)

Alice Marble 1936

Alice Marble shocked the spectators by wearing shorts at Wimbledon, but now girls can’t get enough of them. We love these Zero + Maria Cornejo high waisted shorts from The Outnet (£55)
Wear with a Ralph Lauren Polo and team with flip flops for a chilled out day or trainers for a trip to the tennis club

Gertrude Moran (aka Gorgeous Gussie) was the first tennis player to wear a skirt showing her pants in 1946

Maria Sharapova divided opinions in 2008 with her tuxedo style tennis top

Venus Williams 2010

Bethanie Mattek-Sands 2011

Venus Williams, 2011

It may not have been loved on court, but these white playsuits are the perfect item for a sunny day...

Petra Kvitova & Novak Djokovic

Djokovic and girlfriend Jelena Ristic

Create this look of neutral colour blocking with this gorgeous Bastyan dress

But we cannot forget the spectators of 2012 who, despite the bad weather, have showcased some beautiful summer outfits.

Pippa Middleton looked beautiful in her £132 Orla Keily Jacket, carrying a £1,560 handbag available at Ermanno Scervino and her Givenchy sunglasses (£159)

Create the look with these crop sleeved jackets this season from Zara
(prices range between £40 and £50)

Savi has a new style crush, and it's on the gorgeous Kim Sears; girlfriend of Britain's Andy Murray, she has turned up to every match looking fabulous!

Savi loves Kim's black print dress, £135 from Whistles.

Opting for a more casual look, Kim chose jeans and a t-shirt for her next day at Wimbledon

Every girl needs a pair of navy jeans, and having tried and tested many, Dorothy Perkins have come up as Savi’s favourite affordable skinnies at just £28
Another essential item is the white t-shirt. Kim has gone for a baggier version which looks great with the skin tight trousers. Savi loves this topshop tee with a cut out back...
To keep the look simple but elegant, try this classic grey cardigan from La Redoute
Savi’s not a great fan of the orange leopard print, but loves this Lara Bohinic alternative
Complete with the perfect pair of moccasins from Dune

Kim’s used this sophisticated yellow Zara blazer with a beautiful green dress for the perfect colour blocking

We also love this lace lined blazer from House of Fraser
We love this Mango emerald green sleeveless dress, great for a daytime or evening look
And it’s hard not to notice the £1,750 Louis Vuitton watch that accompanies the outfit. For a more affordable but good quality version, check out this one from Guess (£150)
Once again, Kim carries the same brown bag – but Savi thinks it’s time for something different, so why not go for light grey for this summer?

Nails
Nails have featured in Wimbledon since the arrival of the Williams sisters, the most noticeable being Serena's diamante extensions in 2010.

Here's how Savi created the perfect Wimbledon nails
